The program is innovative in context, results-oriented, impactful, and designed based on best practices. It is called LEAD Impact Lab. LEAD is an innovative campus-based employability improvement program designed to help students learn and develop their foundation competencies through activities embedded with the way they Learn & Enjoy during their university/college years. It is learner-focused (self-paced), clear objectives (competencies and skillsets) and assessment based. Hence, Learn, Enjoy, And, Develop (LEAD).
The LEAD competencies are identified based on 21st-century skill sets that are regarded as employers’ preferred competencies. Our practical and proven industry experience is the driving reason for the introduction of LEAD Impact Lab. The foundational competencies targeted by LEAD are categorized as personal effectiveness, academic, and workplace competencies.
University students get introduced to LEAD Impact Lab right from their new entry. The Lab involves enrolment, development mapping, assessment, and matching of students. The process embeds training, coaching, mentoring, exposures via internships, and other techniques as well.
The LEAD Impact Lab is proposed as a public-private partnership initiative with clear scope, concrete outcomes, and a sustainability model.
We are inviting selected university partners to be on board as front runners. One of the benefits they will see is the ability of LEAD to create a system that will enable their career centres to become strong units to support and provide practical guidance to students.
If implemented with commitment through clearly defined partnership, LEAD Impact Lab will create solid foundational competency development mechanisms within universities/colleges. It will help students take ownership of their own development following systematic approaches that will take them through awareness, personal goal-setting, assessment, and certification. They will be able to learn the 21st-century competencies that are highly valued by employers now and in the future in addition to helping them become highly responsible citizens.
