4th Annual East Africa Cement & Concrete Construction Summit

About the Summit

The Annual East Africa Cement and Concrete Construction Summit (Annual EA-CCCS) has been official launched. The summit, by capitalizing on its previous three Annual East Africa Cement, Concrete and Energy Summits, has refocused its’ thematic areas and will run as the 4th Annual East Africa Cement and Concrete Construction Summit (4th Annual EA-CCCS) with the theme-2019 “Cement and Concrete Solutions for East Africa’s Sustainable Future”!

The summit will be held at United Nation ECA Conference Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the date is yet to be determined. The Annual East Africa Cement and Concrete Construction Summit (EACCCS) is being conducted, through the public-private partnership between The i-Capital Africa Institute, Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) and Ethiopian Cement Producers’ Association (ECPA), and strategic partnership with FDRE Chemical and Construction Industry Inputs Development Institute (CCIIDI) and Addis Ababa Institute of Technology (AAiT).

The Annual East Africa Cement and Concrete Construction Summit (EA-CCCS) is to become a brand event within the region, creating a crucial platform discharged to engage major regional and international stakeholders that shape the future of the sector and promote economic development within East Africa.

The 1st Annual East Africa Cement, Concrete and Energy Summit (1st Annual EACCES) was held on March 17-19, 2016 at the African Union Conference Hall in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. The introductory remark was delivered by the then President of Adama Science and Technology University, Prof. John Lee; the President of Ethiopian Cement Producers’ Association who is also the CEO of Derba MIDROC Cement, Ato Haile Assegide conveyed the keynote address. The opening remark was delivered by the then Minister of Construction, Dr Ambachew Mekonnen.

The 2nd Annual East Africa Cement, Concrete and Energy Summit (2nd Annual EACCES) was held on March 15-16, 2017 at the UN-ECA in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. The President of Ethiopian Cement Producers’ Association who is also the CEO of Derba MIDROC Cement, Ato Haile Assegide conveyed the keynote address. The opening remark was delivered by the then Minister of Construction, H.E. Eng. Ayisha Mohammed and H.E. Dr Alemu Sime, the then State Minister of Ministry of Industry.

The 3rd Annual East Africa Cement, Concrete and Energy Summit (3rd Annual EACCES) was held on August 1-2, 2018 at the UN-ECA in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. The introductory remark was delivered by the Vice President of Adama Science and Technology University, Dr Shiferaw Feyissa; the State Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, H.E. Eng Shumete Gizaw conveyed the keynote address. The opening remark was delivered by the then Minister of Construction, H.E. Eng, Ayisha Mohammed.

The i-Capital Africa Institute annually organizes various knowledge sharing platforms pertaining to different sectors such as the East Africa Finance Summit, the East Africa Cement and Concrete Construction Summit and an Annual Conference on the Human Capital Development in Africa.

These knowledge sharing platforms (KSPs) are organized in the form of summits, conference, forums and other forms at national, regional and continental levels to enhance knowledge and experience sharing within the region and provide a platform for critical voices of the sectorto come together and discuss challenges, share experiences, network and match make for sustainable business relationships.
